In 1969 I graduated from Virgina Tech, ready to let myself loose on the world. The universe was immersed in the Viet Nam War. ALL young men were deeply affected and forced to take long hard look at what they believed in. By summer of 1971 I was in the Army in Huntsville. Dwight visited with a friend named Pete Steele. Dwight introduced me to the Who's Tommy.

He allowed me to understand that the YOU in "following YOU" was the urging of each of us to look within ourselves to find the ultimate everything. Since that time other people have told me that that wasn't it at all. Never mind! for Dwight and I it was PERFECT! When I can I will listen to it again.
The next major rock poet that Dwight introduced me to was Roger Waters (Pink Floyd). Through Dwight, I immersed myself in all their early work. Dwight deeply identified with the gentle songs in Atom Heart Mother and Ummagumma such as "If I..." and "Manchester Meadows"
Through the 70's and 80's I allowed Dwight to be my musical/spiritual advisor. "The church of man, Love, is such a holy place to be!" He lead me through King Crimson, David Bowie, The Moody Blues, and Captain Beefheart. I have always and will always, listen to those works and feel that I am with Dwight.
